Exciting announcement! Get your tickets! Chefs of Compassion 2023 is scheduled for Friday March 31st, 2023. Join us for the social event of the year – the 2023 Chefs of Compassion Benefit Gala, in person again after 2 years!
In our much loved annual fundraising gala, three well-known local celebrity chefs compete for the title of Chef of Compassion. Each competing chef prepares one course of a three-course dinner inspired by using main ingredients found only in the WVCS food market (except for oil, flour, sugar and spices). During the event a panel of Celebrity Judges awards the dishes based on taste, appearance, and creativity, and all attendees vote on a special “Audience Favorite” award. As the guests enjoy their delicious dinner and special wine, some of WVCS’s clients share their stories.
Those of you who have attended any of the Chefs of Compassion events in years past already know that partying with the friends of West Valley Community Services means great fun, fabulous food, and meaningful support for WVCS families and programs. This year it is in person at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View at 6 pm on March 31st 2023.
Last year’s event, albeit virtual, was a great success, a testament to the support that YOU – our incredible community members – have shown! The proceeds from this event enable us to provide services to the record number of clients who come to our doors facing housing and food insecurity. Given the economic challenges our community has been seeing with many layoffs, the need for support has only grown and we hope to have similar success at this year’s event!
Past competing chefs have represented some of the finest dining and food experiences in our region, including chefs from Michelin-Starred All Spice, Stanford Health Care, Taverna, Alexander's Steak House, Manresa, Alex Hult - owner, and ex-chef of Hult Restaurant, Chefs from Google, Flights, AXL Gastropub, and many more. You can learn more about this year’s competing chefs here.
Our honorees this year are Nancy and Chuck Harper and the Sobrato Family Foundation. Nancy and Chuck have been diligent volunteers, ardent community advocates and incredible leaders for many years now. The Sobrato Family Foundation is an incredible organization that has established itself as a strong community advocate for several decades now. Our organization as well as many others in the west valley have benefited from their tireless support, dedication and contributions to so many social and local causes. We eagerly look forward to celebrating our honorees this year and we are delighted to recognize their contributions in our own special way. You can find more information on our honorees here.
Ticketing is now open so please visit our website to purchase tickets and learn more about the event, including all about this year’s chefs, honorees, and more. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor you can learn more about that too. If you have any questions please reach out to us at event@wvcommunityservices.org!
